WELCOME TO Walmart’s U-TALK. U-Talk is a digital interactive dialogue simulation trainer, that seeks to offer high-end role-play-like simulations, where we can place learners or associates in a virtual environment where they’re able to react to emotionally responsive avatars that have both personality and emotions; to teach how to manage difficult conversations stress or customer interactions in a safe non-job impacting environment.

The real world often gives us challenges that paper learning or lecture based classroom lessons just can’t prepare us for. Difficult conversations and customer interactions can sometimes be unpredictable, they can take us out of our comfort zone and can trigger emotional reactions that far too often cause us to make critical mistakes. These simulations guide the learner through the experience, so they can better learn critical conversation, de-escalation, problem solving, empathetic and stress management skills that can have a large impact on customer service leadership and mental health.
Through practicing, or role-playing these sometimes mission-critical conversations, the associate gains the skills, knowledge, and know-how to do it in a real life environment. In conjunction with the integrated virtual instructor, we can also create a cross between guided and digital experience. This can allow the learner to get instant feedback or help if they find themselves in a difficult situation and don’t know how to navigate out of it. Furthermore when combined with the integrated behavioral analytics tool, U-Talk will be able to pinpoint the exact mistake in the simulation and give the user feedback on those mistakes, so they know how to deal with it in the future. U-Talk combines the science of learning, the art of conversation, and the power of simulation/ game technology, to engage users in a role-play-like conversation with virtual humans. Allowing them to try different approaches, get personal feedback, and gain the confidence, and skills to deal with similar situations in the real world.
